Game Preview: Warriors vs. Clippers - 11/30/23

Warriors and Clippers Have 63 Combined All-Star Appearances Among Their Active Players

LOOKING TO RIGHT THE SHIP
The Warriors and Clippers find themselves in very similar situations heading into Thursday's clash at Chase Center. Despite their star power, both teams have gone through some rough patches, including a six-game losing streak in November for both franchises. The Warriors have won two of their last four games since that skid but are fresh off losing a game in which they led by as many as 24 points on Tuesday in Sacramento. The Clippers have won four of their last six games but also had a recent disappointing loss, losing to the Denver Nuggets without Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, or Aaron Gordon on Monday. Los Angeles beat the Kings in Sacramento on Wednesday and head to the Bay for the second night of a back-to-back.

L.A. CLIPPERS SCOUTING REPORT
After acquiring 10-time All-Star James Harden in late October, the Clippers surpassed the Warriors as the team with the most All-Star appearances among their active players, with 32 nods between Harden (10), Russell Westbrook (9), Paul George (8) and Kawhi Leonard (5). The Warriors have 31 All-Star selections between Chris Paul (12), Stephen Curry (9), Klay Thompson (5), Draymond Green (4) and Andrew Wiggins (1).

The Clippers have been attempting to incorporate Harden into their system while figuring out the best lineup combinations and rotations to maximize their talent. Los Angeles has moved Westbrook to the second unit to stagger the minutes of two of their primary ball handlers. Harden is averaging 15.1 points per game and 6.2 assists per game in 12 games with the Clippers and the squad is 5-7 with him in the lineup. Their two frontcourt stars — Paul George (23.9 PPG) and Kawhi Leonard (21.8 PPG) — have played in every game this season and are averaging a combined 45.7 points per game.
