DETROIT SCOUTING REPORT
In the 2022-23 season, the Detroit Pistons owned the NBA's worst record at 17-65. The first pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, Cade Cunnigham, missed most of that season due to a left leg injury. Cunningham is the Pistons' leading scorer this season, averaging 23.1 points per game and also paces the team in assists per game (7.3 APG). Detroit had the fifth pick of the 2023 NBA Draft and selected guard Ausar Thompson from Overtime Elite — the Warriors recently played his twin brother Amen, who was selected one pick earlier by the Houston Rockets. Like the Warriors, the Pistons are also playing on the second night of a back-to-back, losing to the Phoenix Suns 120-106 on Sunday. Ausar Thompson shined in that game, recording a four-by-five, meaning he had at least four of each of the major statistical categories with 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, four steals and four blocks.

The Pistons also have the former second pick of the 2020 Draft, James Wiseman, who won a championship with the Warriors before being traded last season.
