The NBA Champion Golden State Warriors surpassed over four million followers on Instagram, making the Club the most followed North American professional sports team on Instagram, it was announced today. The Warriors have also generated a collective year-over-year growth of more than 130% on their various social media platforms and have over 16.5 million combined followed on Facebook, Instagram, Weibo, Twitter, YouTube, Vine, and Snapchat, in addition to consistently ranking among the top NBA teams in social engagement metrics.
The Warriors also saw more traffic on warriors.com during the 2015-16 season than any year in history with a 110% increase in page views, 151% increase in visits and 159% increase in unique visitors. The Warriors have established additional franchise records in the digital space with the Warriors mobile app seeing a 212% increase in downloads year-over-year and becoming the most popular NBA team on Sina Weibo with over two million followers on the Chinese social media platform.
