PRESEASON TAKEAWAYS
The story of the preseason for the Dubs was the emergence of Marquese Chriss, a three-year NBA veteran who took a chance on himself by signing a training camp invite with the Dubs, but has now earned a spot in the Dubs’ frontcourt. Though the team finished 2-3 in the preseason, the Dubs showed flashes of their potential through their five exhibition games, including a Stephen Curry 40-point night and a high-scoring preseason finale. UPCOMING MILESTONES
Curry has a chance to join elite NBA company this season in several categories. With 78 three-pointers, Curry (2,483) will pass Reggie Miller (2,560) for 2nd most in NBA regular-season history behind only Ray Allen (2,973). Fans who may be keen to watch his career averages may note that Curry is on pace to accomplish this feat before the calendar flips to 2020. He also could surpass Wilt Chamberlain (17,783) in points and Guy Rodgers (4,855) in assists later in the season, and in doing so would be the eighth player in NBA history to lead a team in both points and assists.

SAME RIVALS, NEW STARS
Though the Warriors just saw the Clippers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs five months ago, both teams enter this game and season with All-Star additions to each squad. The Dubs acquired 2019 NBA All-Star D’Angelo Russell this past summer to join Curry in the Warriors’ backcourt while Klay Thompson rehabs his left Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). Among other additions to the Dubs include Willie Cauley-Stein, who joins the returning Kevon Looney among the Dubs’ bigs, and 2017 Slam Dunk Champion Glenn Robinson III who is expected to start at small forward while Thompson remains out. Meanwhile, the Clippers most notably signed last season’s Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard along with six-time All-Star Paul George and enter this season as a popular pick to end the Dubs’ run of five consecutive trips to the NBA Finals.
