SAN ANTONIO (October 2, 2023)&nbsp;– The San Antonio Spurs today announced additions and promotions within the team’s basketball operations staff.

The Spurs have added&nbsp;Kaleb Thornhill&nbsp;as VP of player development and organizational growth and&nbsp;Jimmy Baron&nbsp;joins as the team’s shooting development coach, while&nbsp;Josh Brannon&nbsp;has been promoted to player development from the Spurs video room.&nbsp;San Antonio has also promoted&nbsp;Kenny Trevino&nbsp;to head video coordinator, as well as&nbsp;Jon Harris&nbsp;and&nbsp;Ryan Oliver&nbsp;to assistant video coordinators.

In the Spurs medical and performance group, the team has added&nbsp;Guy Nicolette, MD&nbsp;as director of sports medicine,&nbsp;Beth Morford&nbsp;as soft tissue specialist and&nbsp;Guillaume Alquier&nbsp;as athletic performance coach.

Thornhill&nbsp;will lead the Spurs player development efforts as VP of player development and organizational growth. Prior to joining the Silver and Black, he established Pro Athlete Community (PAC) with the mission to help current and former NFL players sharpen their business acumen, develop life skills, foster a sense of community, all while providing them with invaluable mentorship. Thornhill got his start in the NFL with the Detroit Lions front office before spending more than 12 years as director of player engagement for the Miami Dolphins, where he created the NFL’s first Business Combine. This off-field experience for current and former players made the Dolphins the only NFL team to implement an executive education certificate program for current players. From Lansing, Michigan, Thornhill holds a bachelor’s in human resources and master’s in kinesiology from Michigan State University, an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and completed the Athlete Development Certification Program at Wharton Business School.

Baron&nbsp;will serve as the Spurs shooting development coach after working as head skills coach at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from 2020-23. Prior to joining IMG, he spent 10 years running basketball camps and training athletes, while also assisting with a 2016 regional USA Basketball Youth Development Clinic. Baron brings 11 years of professional playing experience, having played in Turkey, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Lithuania and Russia, winning a EuroCup Championship in 2013 with Lokomotiv Kuban (Russia). Before heading overseas, the Rhode Island native spent four seasons playing for his father Jim Baron at the University of Rhode Island where Jimmy set and currently holds the Atlantic 10 record for three-pointers made (361).

Brannon&nbsp;is entering his fifth season with Spurs, moving to player development after spending last season as San Antonio’s head video coordinator. He spent 2021-22 in the video department as the assistant video coordinator and two seasons as a quality assurance assistant from 2019-21. Brannon coached at Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kansas from 2016-18. The Houston native played at Southwestern Community College and Panola Junior College before spending his final three seasons at Rockhurst University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business communication in 2016. Brannon also worked in basketball camps for the Spurs Sports Academy since 2010, serving as a camp director from 2016 until he joined the coaching staff in 2019.&nbsp;

Trevino&nbsp;will serve as the Spurs head video coordinator after spending last season as the assistant video coordinator. Prior to joining San Antonio, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Austin Spurs after serving as a coaching assistant with Austin in 2019-20. Trevino joined the Spurs organization as a team attendant for San Antonio in 2012, later becoming an assistant equipment manager for the team during the 2016-17 season. The Laredo, Texas, native graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2016.

Harris&nbsp;becomes an assistant video coordinator for San Antonio in his second season with the organization. Prior to joining the Spurs as a video assistant in 2022, he served as a graduate assistant with the Florida State University men’s basketball program, while obtaining a master’s degree in coaching. Following three seasons at Miami University of Ohio and one season at Cleveland State, Harris played internationally for seven years in Argentina, Germany, China and Canada. Originally from Twinsburg, Ohio, he also worked as a camp counselor and coordinator for the Cleveland Cavaliers Youth Academy from 2016-2020.

Oliver&nbsp;begins his second season with the Spurs as an assistant video coordinator after spending last season as a video assistant. Prior to joining the Silver and Black, he served as the director of basketball operations at UC Davis from 2020-2022 following coaching stints at Clark University (MA), Northfield Mount Hermon (MA), and Glendale College (CA). In addition to his time on the sideline, the Inglewood native played professionally for two seasons in Ireland. Oliver earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Missouri in 2019 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Siena College, where he played four seasons from 2012-2016.

Nicolette&nbsp;becomes director of sport medicine for the Spurs as an associate clinical professor at UT Health San Antonio, bringing more than 20 years of sports medicine experience to the team. Prior to joining the Spurs, he served as executive director of University Health and a team physician at University of California-Berkeley and spent 16-plus years as a team physician and director of the sports medicine fellowship program at the University of Florida. Nicolette returns to the Alamo City after attending University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for medical school, while also receiving medical and sports medicine training at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Alquier&nbsp;joins the&nbsp;Spurs&nbsp;medical team as an athletic performance coach after spending the 2022-23 season as a strength and conditioning coach for Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92 in the LNB ProA French League. Prior to Mets 92, he spent five years (2017-2022) as strength and conditioning coach for Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez also in the LNB ProA French League and has previous experience working with the Pau Orthez youth academy as well as a third division rugby team. In 2015, Alquier graduated from the University of Pau in France with a master’s degree in performance.

Morford&nbsp;joins San Antonio as the team’s soft tissue specialist, entering her 20th year as a high-performance sports massage therapist. Throughout her career, Morford has worked with top-10 Division I swimming and basketball programs, including University of Kansas Men’s Basketball where she was a part of the 2018 Final Four and 2022 National Championship teams. In addition to her collegiate background, she spent seven years traveling with USA Swimming and was invited by the United States Olympic Committee to be part of Team USA’s sports medical staff at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Originally from Lawrence, Kansas, the former Jayhawk attended the University of Kansas prior to obtaining her soft tissue certification.

Spurs Announce Basketball Operations Staff Additions & Promotions

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 2, 2023)&nbsp;– The San Antonio Spurs today announced their 2023-24 training camp roster, which currently stands at 19 players. The Silver and Black return 15 players from last season and features six of San Antonio’s first round draft picks from the last five years, as well as three offseason additions.

Head coach Gregg Popovich returns to lead the Spurs for the 28th straight season as San Antonio opens training camp on Oct. 3 at the Victory Capital Performance Center. The Silver and Black will tip off the 2023-24 campaign on the road with a preseason matchup at Oklahoma City on Monday, Oct. 9 before returning home to the newly-named Frost Bank Center for a three-game slate beginning Oct. 13 vs. Miami. Bullock was acquired on July 12, along with a 2030 first round pick swap, from Dallas in exchange for three future second round picks as part of a three-team trade with the Mavericks and Boston Celtics.

All Preseason Games Will be Available to San Antonio Viewers for the First Time&nbsp;

SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 27, 2023) – The San Antonio Spurs today announced the broadcast schedule for the 2023-24 preseason games. For the first time ever, all preseason games will be available to San Antonio viewers with one game on Bally Sports Southwest (Bally/BSSW), two on GOAI (CW35), one on TNT and one on NBATV. In-season tournament and regular season broadcast information will be released at a later date.&nbsp;

All Spurs preseason games can be heard on WOAI 1200-AM with Bill Schoening on the call. Spanish language radio broadcasts of home preseason games with play-by-play announcer Paul Castro will be carried by KXTN AM-1350. &nbsp;

San Antonio Spurs Announce 2023-24 Preseason Broadcast Schedule

Spurs Finalize Agreement and Begin Work to Update Naming Assets

SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 22, 2023)&nbsp;– The San Antonio Spurs today announced their naming rights agreement with Frost Bank (Frost) has been finalized and the arena is now officially the “Frost Bank Center." Initially announced in August, the Spurs secured Frost as their new arena naming rights partner as an expansion of the 50-year of partnership between the two brands that began in 1973 when Tom C. Frost provided the financing necessary to move the franchise to San Antonio.

The Spurs will begin work this month to update arena signage within and outside the Frost Bank Center, including marquee signage, ticket towers, center court jumbotron and other marketing materials. The majority of these in-arena and outside signage changes will be made before the start of the season. The Frost Bank Center logo will be seen on the team’s core and City Edition courts, with the first reveal of the court taking place at the Silver & Black Open Scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 7. The name change is also reflected in digital assets, such as the arena’s social handles and web presence. Theme Game Nights Will Spotlight Special Causes and Holidays Throughout the Season

SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 8, 2023)&nbsp;– The San Antonio Spurs today announced their promotional schedule and theme nights for the 2023-24 regular season, presented by H-E-B. The schedule features a wide range of dedicated game nights to spotlight and celebrate various causes, as well as other special events for fans as they cheer on the Silver and Black.

The 2023-24 season kicks off with Opening Night on Wednesday, Oct. 25, presented by Ticketmaster, which will feature a T-shirt giveaway designed by popular San Antonio artist Ray Scarborough for all fans in attendance at the arena. The schedule features 10 City Nights, presented by Michelob ULTRA, during which the Spurs will don their newest City Edition uniforms. Of the 10 City Nights, two will take part during the NBA In-Season Tournament as the Spurs host Minnesota on Friday, Nov. 10 and Sacramento on Friday, Nov. 17.

Throughout the season, the Spurs will honor our local military heroes by recognizing Veterans Night on Sunday, Nov. 12, Salute Night on Saturday, Jan. 27, and Military Appreciation Night on Sunday, March 3, all presented by USAA. Box Out Cancer Night will return to the AT&T Center on Friday, Jan. 26, where the Spurs will continue to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

The schedule includes several promotional nights as part of the team’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and belonging, including Hispanic Heritage Night on Thursday, Nov. 30, Pride Night on Friday, Jan. 12, Martin Luther King Jr. Night on Saturday, Jan. 13, Black Heritage Night on Friday, Feb. 2 and Women’s Night on Friday, March 22.

San Antonio Spurs Announce Promotional Schedule for 2023-2024 Season

SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 1, 2023)&nbsp;– Fans are invited to the free 2023-24 Silver & Black Open Scrimmage, presented by Ticketmaster, at the AT&T Center on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. The San Antonio Spurs will take the court for four 10-minute quarters, giving fans the chance to preview the team in action ahead of their Wednesday, Oct. 25 home opener against the Dallas Mavericks. Tickets are free and are required for entry – see details below.

Fans in attendance can get specially priced $2 draft beers and $1 soft drinks and a 25% discount at the Spurs Fan Shop inside the AT&T Center, located on the south end of the arena. Parking for the event will be free in Lots 1-7 and doors will open at 4 p.m.&nbsp;

The Silver & Black Open Scrimmage will be ticketed due to anticipated high demand. To be eligible to receive free tickets, fans must complete the following steps:&nbsp;

Current season ticket members do not need to enter to win tickets to the open scrimmage. Members are guaranteed up to four tickets per account and will receive more information on how to claim their tickets directly from their ticket representative. Season ticket members will also have access to a members-only tailgate at the ULTRA Club ahead of tip-off. All tickets are General Admission seating and cannot be transferred or resold.

The open scrimmage will feature two efforts led by Spurs Give, including a donation drive to collect sports gear and hygiene items for girls participating in youth sports. Fans can bring their donated goods to the drop-off locations at all entrances prior to security checkpoints before entering the arena. With a goal of collecting enough items to pack 1,000 gift bags, Spurs Give will be accepting new unopened products, including hair accessories, athletic socks, new shoes of all sizes, feminine products, deodorant, additional sports clothing and hygiene products.&nbsp;

Spurs Give will also be holding a Yard Sale fundraiser for fans to purchase Spurs branded merchandise and collectible items at low cost. The Yard Sale will be open in the ULTRA Club for all fans to shop starting at tip off. All funds raised through the Yard Sale will go directly to Spurs Give’s efforts of creating safe spaces to play and learn, increasing access to inclusive teams and providing a culture of belonging.
