Spurs Sign Zach Collins to Multi-Year Contract Extension

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 22, 2023) – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed Zach Collins to a multi-year contract extension. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. 

Collins enters his sixth season in the NBA and third with the Spurs after averaging a career-high 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 22.9 minutes, while shooting 51.8% from the field in 2022-23. Last season, he appeared in 63 games (26 starts), his most games played since 2018-19, leading the Spurs in rebounds 16 times, blocks 18 times, and scoring double-figures 37 times, including a career-high 29 points on a career-best 11 field goals at Detroit in February.

Originally from Las Vegas, Collins began his career with the Portland Trail Blazers after being selected 10th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft. In five seasons with the Trail Blazers and Spurs, Collins holds career averages of 7.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 18.9 minutes over 245 career games.  

Prior to the NBA, the 25-year-old played one season at Gonzaga in 2016-17, averaging 10.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.77 blocks in 39 games where he helped lead the Bulldogs to its first NCAA Championship Game in school history and was named WCC All-Conference Second Team and WCC All-Freshman Team.
