SAN ANTONIO (Dec 14, 2023)&nbsp;– The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed guard David Duke Jr. to a Two-Way contract. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not announced. In a corresponding roster move, the Spurs have waived Two-Way guard Sir’Jabari Rice.

Duke Jr., 6-4/205, most recently played for the Delaware Blue Coats, the G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers. In 11 games with the Blue Coats, he averaged 21.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists in 31.5 minutes. Prior to Delaware, Duke Jr. was with the Brooklyn Nets for two seasons (2021-23) as a Two-Way player. In 45 NBA games, he averaged 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 12.6 minutes. In 35 regular season games with Brooklyn’s G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets, Duke Jr. posted averages of 20.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 32.3 minutes.

The Providence, R.I. native spent three seasons (2018-21) at Providence College, where he was named to the Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America as a junior. In 91 games for the Friars, Duke Jr. finished with&nbsp;career averages&nbsp;of 11.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 30.8 minutes.

Rice appeared in four games with the Austin Spurs this season, averaging 9.3 points, 4.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 20.3 minutes.

The Por Vida hot sauce features a mild spice level, favoring flavor first and heat second to make the sauce accessible to palettes and plates alike. This hot sauce features a subtle level of heat with a smooth finish, enjoyable regardless of the dish. With notes of smokey black pepper and charred peppers, it adds an authentic taste of Central Texas to complement any dish, from steaks to tacos to barbecue.

This collaboration serves as a tribute to authentic San Antonio flavor and was created in-house by the Spurs creative studio and formulated with the expertise of local producer, Humble House. Founded by a graduate of the San Antonio branch of the Culinary Institute of America, Humble House was built on the belief that every person deserves access to fresh and healthy food.&nbsp;

SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 29, 2023)&nbsp;– The San Antonio Spurs today announced two regular season games have been added to their schedule for the 2023-24 season, following the conclusion of the group play portion of the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament. The Spurs will go on the road to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. and host the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 8 at 7:30.

The Silver and Black’s Dec. 6 contest against the Timberwolves will be broadcast locally on&nbsp;Bally Sports&nbsp;(Bally/BSSW) and will also be broadcast nationally on ESPN. The Dec. 8 home game against the Bulls will be broadcast locally on Bally Sports.

Both Spurs games can be heard on WOAI 1200-AM with Bill Schoening. Design Pays Tribute to San Antonio’s 1968 World’s Fair, Hemisfair and Tower of Americas

SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 2, 2023)&nbsp;– The San Antonio Spurs today unveiled their 2023-24 Nike NBA City Edition uniforms and court paying tribute to Hemisfair and the iconic role it played in San Antonio history as the site of the 1968 World’s Fair. The retail collection is now available for sale at the Spurs Fan Shop in the Frost Bank Center and on&nbsp;SpursFanShop.com.

A tribute to San Antonio and its unique history, the Nike NBA City Edition uniform design features details inspired by the late ‘60s era. Against a white base, the San Antonio wordmark arches across the chest and is accented by chocolate brown and saffron orange arm trim. Inspired by the earth-toned fashion trends of the late ‘60s, the color palette expands down the short sides with shades of terracotta pink, sunflower yellow and succulent green. The logo on the lower left side of the uniform shorts pays tribute to our city’s landmark: the Tower of Americas, which was built for the 1968 World’s Fair. As with all uniforms worn by the Spurs this season, the jersey features the Self Financial (Self) logo in the corner as part of Self’s multi-year jersey patch partnership with the team.

The Spurs have also revealed a corresponding City Edition court, which fully embraces the thematic color palette and complements their matching uniforms. The court is bordered with a pop of succulent green around the perimeter and color blocking of the saffron orange and rich chocolate brown within the key. The Hemisfair logo appears center court around which all of the game action will revolve, a massive tribute to the city the Spurs call home. The phrase “Viva Spurs” emblazoned on the court and above the jock tag on each jersey turns back the clock to a timeless mantra forever tied to the team.

“This uniform design is inspired by HemisFair’s legacy and the role it played launching San Antonio onto the global stage and fostering its multicultural identity,” said Becky Kimbro, Senior Vice President of Brand Engagement. “The World’s Fair was the first officially designated international exposition in the Southwest United States and made the late ‘60s a pivotal time in our city. We saw this era as the perfect illustration of the growth and vibrancy embodied by both our community and our team.”

The Spurs will sport their Nike NBA City Edition uniforms for the first time in their Friday, Nov. 10 game hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Frost Bank Center at 7 p.m. This will also be the first of their in-season tournament games. SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 31, 2023)&nbsp;– Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) and the Silver & Black Experience, powered by Aramark, today announced its food and beverage offerings for the 2023-24 season at Frost Bank Center. The arena will offer 13 new and multicultural food options for fans, including eight that were selected to be a part of the Spurs Culinary Residency this season. Fans can take a bite out of these selections during the Spurs home games.

As part of the Culinary Residency program, Tito’s Handmade Vodka Copper Cap Lounge will create a “Give Back” specialty cocktail menu that aligns with the different culinary concepts featured at the stand throughout the season. Tito’s Handmade Vodka will make a $1 donation to Spurs Give for each specialty cocktail sold at Tito’s Handmade Vodka Copper Cap Lounge, up to $20,000, from Oct. 26, 2023 to April 30, 2024, located directly next to the Culinary Residency stand, which will go towards supporting Spurs culinary programming.

Festivities for the first ever Spurs fan fest and watch party at Frost Plaza, presented by Michelob ULTRA, will begin at 4 p.m. with the Silver and Black tipping off against Miami Heat at 6 p.m. on a 40-foot outdoor screen.&nbsp;&nbsp;

San Antonio Converts Charles Bediako to Two-Way Contract&nbsp;

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 23, 2023)&nbsp;– The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have converted center Charles Bediako to a two-way contract to finalize their opening night roster for the 2023-24 season. The Silver and Black tip off the regular season in San Antonio on Wednesday, Oct. 25 against the Dallas Mavericks at the Frost Bank Center.

Bediako, 7-0/225, appeared in five games for the Spurs in the NBA 2K24 Summer League, averaging 5.2 points and 5.2 rebounds in 13.1 minutes. Prior to Summer League, Bediako played two seasons at the University of Alabama where in 68 games (65 starts) he averaged 6.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.70 blocks in 19.2 minutes on his way to 2023 SEC All-Tournament Team and SEC All-Defensive team.
