PHILADELPHIA -- APRIL 11, 2023 - The NBA announced today that Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in March and April. This represents the third honor in as many months for Embiid (December 2022, January 2023), who now has seven such awards throughout his career.

Embiid, who recently clinched his second consecutive NBA scoring title, produced a league-best 33.3 points on 59.5% shooting, and 1.9 blocked shots in 18 games over the last month-plus of the season, making him one of two players in NBA history to log such numbers over any 18-game span (Shaquille O’Neal, 1999-2000). His 599 points scored across March and April led all players.

Embiid reached the 30-point mark in 12 of his 18 appearances and became the third player in franchise history to log three 50-point games in a single season, when he posted 52 points against the Celtics on April 4. He shot 20-of-25 from the field and added 13 rebounds, six assists, and two blocked shots in the victory, making him the second player in NBA history to log 50-plus points, 10-plus rebounds, and five-plus assists on at least 80.0% shooting.

Philadelphia won 12 of the 18 games in which Embiid appeared over the span.

He is the first NBA player since 2019-20 and the first 76er ever to capture a trio of monthly honors within a single season.
