The Rockets very own loveable mascot, Clutch the Bear, won the leadership award at the 2014 NBA Mascot Conference last week as voted on by his peers (mascots from the rest of the NBA teams). This is Clutch's 3rd time winning the award since mascot awards were put in place in 2005 - with previous leadership wins coming in 2009 & 2010.
Rocketman, Clutch's assistant and side kick, was instrumental in the award as was the support and first class work of Red Studios and the entire game entertainment department that assist in creating mascot material that continues to set the standard in pro sports.
The 2014 mascot leadership award comes on the heels of last year's wins, where Clutch swept all but the leadership award at the 2013 conference - including live skit, video skit, stunt, and mascot of the year (previously awarded first ever mascot of the year in 2005 upon inception of awards).
