Clutch the Rockets Bear

Now in his 25th season as the Rockets mascot, Clutch the Bear has become one of the most celebrated mascots in sports.

Clutch is HOUSTON’S #1 FAN and can be seen cheering on his team at all Rockets home games and at numerous community events throughout the city of Houston. Whether he is creating impromptu comedy, throwing a cake in an opposing team fan's face, shooting silly string, signing autographs, dancing with the Clutch City Dancers, doling out hugs, or performing on-court skits, Clutch is always a fan favorite. When Clutch isn’t entertaining fans at Toyota Center, he is visiting fans all over Houston and around the world, having performed across the U.S. and internationally in thirteen countries. Clutch was named the first-ever NBA Mascot of the Year in 2005 and took the award home again in 2013. He was inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2006.

Formerly known as the “Rockets Power Dancers”, The Clutch City Dancers have long been fan favorites at Rockets games and in the Greater Houston area for their tremendous energy, hard-hitting routines and love for the game. This world-class group of dancers has inspired Rockets fans since the 1994-95 season. The team is comprised of business professionals and students who perform at all home games and at numerous community, corporate and private events. The dancers, along with Rockets players and staff, also contribute to and attend community events that make a difference in the lives of those in our community. The dancers have been proud to represent the Rockets at multiple NBA All-Star Games, as well as at international events throughout mainland China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan, Bosnia, Kosovo, the United Kingdom and Spain. These versatile ladies have been featured on SportsCenter, CNN, Fox and FSN, as well as in Sports Illustrated, Maxim and Complex magazines. The Clutch City Dancers are led by Director of Entertainment Natalie Alvarado. This former seven-year member of the Rockets Power Dancers also toured the nation as a music performer with Universal Records. Her self-titled debut album “Natalie” premiered at No. 16 on the Billboard Top-200 Charts.

Clutch City Dancers participate in 41 home games, 2-3 rehearsals per week, team workouts once per week, and Rockets playoff runs. When notable organizations or celebrities bring their events to Houston, they are sure to call the world-famous Clutch City Dancers to take their event to the next level. Such events include the NCAA Final Four, Superbowl LI, USA Basketball, Ice Cube’s Big3 Basketball, Oprah Winfrey’s “The Life You Want” tour, and Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival. The CCD performances are not only seen by 18,000+ fans inside of our home arena, Toyota Center, but also by the 1.34 million fans worldwide who view Rockets games via NBA League Pass.

The Rockets Launch Crew took off in 2004-05 and hasn’t looked back. This group of talented tumblers, break dancers and pop-lockers are the best in the business. You can see them performing explosive routines, throwing t-shirts to fans and helping with on-court contests, all while bringing their special brand of spirit. The Launch Crew team members show their skills at home games, performing during timeouts and energizing the crowd at key moments in the game. They also make numerous community and corporate appearances throughout the year. Launch Crew is often invited to represent the Rockets at the NBA All-Star Games. The crew has also represented Rockets Entertainment at the 2013-14 Global Games in the Philippines and Taiwan, as well as 2019-20 games in Hawaii and Japan. In 2013, the Launch Crew was named, “The Best Entertainment Team in Sports” by GameOps.com.

The Rockets Dunk Team, Anti-Gravity, was introduced to Rockets entertainment in 2010. This powerful and explosive group of trampoline dunkers consists of gymnasts and performers who perform during quarter breaks at selective home games. They bring the energy and never cease to amaze the fans of Toyota Center with their one-of-a-kind acrobatic dunks. Many of the Anti-Gravity members travel from city to city as professional dunkers, and even circus entertainers, who have appeared on the infamous TV show, America’s Got Talent. Anti-Gravity also performs at community and corporate events throughout the season.

Entertainment veteran T. Gray, current DJ of the Houston Rockets, has contributed to many noteworthy projects in his 20 plus years in the industry. He’s amassed a resume that includes radio/club DJ/Programmer, music producer, artist management and even club investor just to name a few. With a vast amount of experience in all genres of music and many aspects of the entertainment business, his ability to bring rooms of people together musically is a nourished gift that he loves to share with his audience.

The Space City Seniors are another great performance group for the Rockets. Consisting of several “young at heart” retirees, these seniors wow Toyota Center crowds on a regular basis with their current and old-school hip hop moves. Their high energy and enthusiasm for dance and the Rockets are unmatched in the NBA.

The Little Dippers are the cutest addition to Rockets game entertainment. This coed squad of talented kids, ages 6-11, debuted in 2006-07 and was an immediate hit. The group of all-star kids from all over Houston perform hip-hop and novelty dance routines at weekend and special games throughout the year. Their energetic performances include tumbling, stunting and break dancing which always bring the crowd to its feet. The Little Dippers love to participate in the Rockets game experience and also perform at community events.
