Clutch City Dancers

Clutch City Dancers History

Formerly known as the “Rockets Power Dancers”, The Clutch City Dancers have long been fan favorites at Rockets games and in the Greater Houston area for their tremendous energy, hard-hitting routines and love for the game. This world-class group of dancers has inspired Rockets fans since the 1994-95 season. The team is comprised of business professionals and students who perform at all home games and at numerous community, corporate and private events. The dancers, along with Rockets players and staff, also contribute to and attend community events that make a difference in the lives of those in our community. The dancers have been proud to represent the Rockets at multiple NBA All-Star Games, as well as at international events throughout mainland China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan, Bosnia, Kosovo, the United Kingdom and Spain. These versatile ladies have been featured on SportsCenter, CNN, Fox and FSN, as well as in Sports Illustrated, Maxim and Complex magazines. The Clutch City Dancers are led by Director of Entertainment Natalie Alvarado. This former seven-year member of the Rockets Power Dancers also toured the nation as a music performer with Universal Records. Her self-titled debut album “Natalie” premiered at No. 16 on the Billboard Top-200 Charts.

Clutch City Dancers participate in 41 home games, 2-3 rehearsals per week, team workouts once per week, and Rockets playoff runs. When notable organizations or celebrities bring their events to Houston, they are sure to call the world-famous Clutch City Dancers to take their event to the next level. Such events include the NCAA Final Four, Superbowl LI, USA Basketball, Ice Cube’s Big3 Basketball, Oprah Winfrey’s “The Life You Want” tour, and Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival. The CCD performances are not only seen by 18,000+ fans inside of our home arena, Toyota Center, but also by the 1.34 million fans worldwide who view Rockets games via NBA League Pass.
