Congratulations are in order for our very own Slamson the Lion!

At the 2018 NBA Mascot Awards Ceremony, Slamson took home the annual "Skit of the Year" trophy for his figure skating maneuvers at Golden 1 Center against the Los Angeles Lakers.

This isn't Slamson's first award however, as he won the prize for Best Mascot just two seasons ago. Or did he?

Known as one of the NBA’s best mascots, Slamson is often captivating audiences with his in-arena fun.

During halftime of Wednesday’s contest, he did just that – sinking a no-look, reverse halfcourt shot (one-handed, too).

DeMarcus Cousins won’t be the only King representing Sactown this year at the 2017 All-Star Game.  Joining the Olympic gold medalist in New Orleans will be four integral pieces of the Kings in-arena entertainment experience.

Kings Emcee Scott Freshour, Director of In-Game Entertainment and Event Presentation Maurice Brazelton, Manager of Audio Operations and Music Production Dan Spackman and Slamson will play key production roles at 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend. Each year, the NBA selects the best of the best to organize and produce the midseason showcase of the League’s top talent.

This year, Fresh was selected by the NBA to serve as the host and voice of the 2017 All-Star Game taking place Sunday, Feb 19. In addition, he’ll also host the festivities for Friday’s Rising Star Challenge.

In his 13th season with the Kings, this is Fresh’s fifth time selected to host NBA All-Star events and his first to emcee the main event. In previous years, he’s hosted the D-League All-Star and Celebrity Games, open practices for both All-Star and Rising Star squads and last year’s Skills Competition.

Adding to the list of firsts, Brazelton’s selection represents the first time he will direct and lead entertainment, events, and programming for the NBA All-Star Game. In his 17th season with the Kings, Brazelton has worked in-game entertainment for 12 previous NBA All-Star Weekends.

With over 15 years of experience, Spackman will join Brazelton as part of the NBA All-Star events team. Meanwhile, Kings mascot Slamson is making his fourth NBA All-Star appearance.  Earlier this season, the lovable mascot performed at the LNB French All-Star Game.

Slamson decided to have a little fun during the Chicago Bulls pregame intro at Golden 1 Center on Monday. Sacramento’s favorite mascot dressed in full matador garb and taunted the visitor team with his best bullfighter impression.
