Utah Jazz Announces 2014-15 Regular Season Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY (August 13, 2014) – The Utah Jazz announced today the team’s 2014-15 regular season schedule.  The Jazz will tip off its 41st NBA campaign against the Houston Rockets on October 29 at EnergySolutions Arena, opening at home for the third straight season.  Utah’s road opener comes the following night at the Dallas Mavericks on October 30.  The regular season will conclude at Houston on April 15.

The Jazz will start the season against the Rockets for the third time in franchise history and first since 2006-07.  The only other previous season opener against Houston was the 1985-86 season, with all meetings taking place in Utah.

Utah will play all Eastern Conference teams twice each and Western Conference teams four times apiece, with the exception of four out-of-division Western Conference teams which it will face just three times.  The four teams include: the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs (two home, one road) and Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Pelicans (two road, one home).

The Jazz’s month-by-month breakdown includes two games in October (one home, one road), 15 games in November (seven home, eight road), 15 games in December (seven home, eight road), 15 games in January (eight home, seven road), 11 games in February (six home, five road), 16 games in March (eight home, eight road) and eight games in April (four home, four road).  This season will feature an eight-day extended All-Star break for the Jazz from February 12-19, with All-Star Weekend taking place February 13-15 in New York.

The Jazz schedule features 19 back-to-back sets (seven away/home, eight away/away and four home/away).  The longest homestand at EnergySolutions Arena will span five games (March 10-18) with three other stints of three in a row played in Utah.  The Jazz will face three road trips of four-plus games, including five straight on the road from November 9-15, a season-long six game road stretch during the team’s annual pre-Christmas trip December 14-22, and four in a row from March 3-8.

All Jazz preseason, regular-season and playoff games will be broadcast live on radio on The Zone Sports Network (1280 AM/97.5 FM) and the Jazz Radio Network.  Utah is also scheduled to appear on national television three times, including one ESPN broadcast (March 18) and two NBA TV broadcasts (November 22, March 8).  A complete television broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.

Other games of note include two home games against the 2014 NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs (December 9, February 23), the Cleveland Cavaliers’ only appearance in Salt Lake City on November 5, visits twice each by the L.A. Clippers on November 29 and January 28 and the L.A. Lakers on January 16 and March 19, and the Northwest Division rival Oklahoma City Thunder on November 18 and March 28.
