Registration Open for Utah Jazz YouthClinics, Junior Jazz Leagues, and Official Utah Jazz Kids Club

In the midst of Jr. NBA Week and the start of the 2022-23 season, the Utah Jazz today announced open registration for a series of Jazz youth clinics that will be held at a new Utah Jazz Shoot 360 presented by Visionary Homes facility in Lehi.

Registration is also ongoing both for Junior Jazz, now in its 40th year as the largest and longest-running youth basketball league in the NBA, and for the official Utah Jazz Kids Club.

“The Jazz are dedicated to fostering youth development through sports activity, and these new programs offer multiple ways for younger fans – regardless of age and ability – to be active with us,” said Nate Martinez, vice president of Jazz Youth programs. “This season, we are also excited to introduce Shoot 360 technology to our clinics, which will allow these younger players to combine the science of sport with expert one-on-one coaching.”

Jazz youth clinics with Shoot 360 technology provide instruction for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels. Lehi is the first of these unique-to-Utah training facilities, with future locations planned for Kaysville and Salt Lake County. Sign-ups are now taking place for camps on Dec. 3 (skill development), Dec. 10 (shooting clinic), and Dec. 28-30 (3v3/skill development) at the new Utah Jazz Shoot 360 facility.

With its Splash Zone technology, Shoot 360 uses cutting-edge science and technology to provide instant training feedback in a gamified environment. Instant audio and visual feedbac on every shot allows players to make real-time corrections to their shooting form.

Through high-tech shooting stations and simulated skill cages, data-derived results
are collected and sent directly to a players’ mobile app in real time. The analysis
includes measuring shot arc, tracking shooting percentage, measuring left/right
differentials, and various other elements to improve shot accuracy.

In the skills cages, participants are guided by virtual trainers who challenge their ball-handling and passing efficiency through a series of moving targets. Shoot 360 has also gamified the training experience, allowing athletes in any of its facilities to compete in shooting games against athletes in other locations in real time.

Registration is also ongoing for Junior Jazz, which has more than 60,000 players
with individual programs managed through more than 120 recreation centers in
Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona, and Nevada. Put a zip code into this “Find
Your League” link to identify nearby participating Junior Jazz programs.

Junior Jazz is sponsored by America First Credit Union, PACS, Toyota, and University of Utah Health.

Part of the wider Jazz Youth program, the official Utah Jazz Kids Club has free
registration, open to youth ages 3-15. Membership includes entry in a monthly
drawing for a prize, electronic/downloaded team picture, birthday card, monthly
newsletter, and a once-per-season $5 gift card to the Jazz Team Store. More
