Jazz Sign Free Agent Quincy Ford

The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has signed free agent forward/guard Quincy Ford. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released. 

Ford (6-8, 225, Northeastern) appeared in 130 games over five seasons at Northeastern University from 2011-16, averaging 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals in 31.9 minutes per game. As a senior, he averaged 16.4 points, a team-high 7.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals in 34.8 minutes in 29 contests. He scored in double figures in 25 games, including seven 20-point contests and two games of 30-or-more points. Ford earned All-Colonial Athletic Association Second Team honors and was named conference player of the week four times. He finished his career ranked fourth all-time in school history in three-pointers made (204).

The 23-year-old was a member of the Jazz entry at the 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League (July 4-7) and NBA Summer League (July 8-15) in Las Vegas, averaging 5.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 19.0 minutes of action in eight games (five starts). He registered 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists vs. New Orleans on July 10. In the following game, Ford grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with seven points against Portland on July 12.

Born in St. Petersburg, Fla., Ford played high school basketball at Gibbs High School.

He will wear jersey #17 for the Jazz.
