Jazz Sign Free Agent Eric Dawson

The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has signed free agent forward Eric Dawson. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Dawson (6-9, 255, Midwestern State) most recently played for the Blackwater Elite in the Philippines, averaging 18.2 points, 15.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.2 blocks in 38.8 minutes per game in six games (all starts). He also spent part of the 2015-16 season with Paris-Levallois in France’s Pro A league.

He appeared in four games for the San Antonio Spurs during the 2011-12, averaging 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 9.8 minutes per contest. He was also named the 2012 NBA D-League Impact Player of the Year after averaging 17.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in 29.0 minutes per game over 29 games for the (then) Austin Toros. Additionally, Dawson has appeared for 11 clubs in eight countries.

Born in San Antonio, Dawson spent two years (2003-05) at McLennan Community College before finishing his collegiate career at Midwestern State (2005-07).
