Jazz to Honor Hot Rod Hundley with Jersey Stripe

SALT LAKE CITY (March 28, 2015) – The Utah Jazz will pay tribute to legendary broadcaster Hot Rod Hundley by wearing a black stripe on their jersey in his honor for the rest of the season.  Beginning with tonight’s game against Oklahoma City, a simple black stripe will adorn the left shoulder of Jazz jerseys for all remaining home and road games.

Prior to tonight’s game, a pregame moment of silence will be held in the arena for Hundley.  In addition, highlights of his career and recollections from many  Jazz greats will air throughout the night’s Jazz television and radio broadcasts (TV: ROOT Sports, Radio: The Zone Sports Network).

Hundley, the beloved voice of the Utah Jazz from 1974-2009, passed away Friday at his home in Phoenix, Ariz. surrounded by family.  He broadcast many of the most memorable moments in Jazz history, calling 3,051 Jazz games over three-plus decades, spending the first 31 years of his Jazz career as the play-by-play voice of Jazz radio/television simulcasts before becoming the radio voice for his final four seasons.
