This Day in Jazz History - May 27, 1994

After two close losses to open the Western Conference Finals in Houston, the Jazz got back in the series with a 95-86 victory in Salt Lake City. Despite a great performance by reigning MVP Hakeem Olajuwon and his 29 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, four steals and four blocks, the Rockets were no match for the Jazz on this day. With Karl Malone's 22 points and 16 rebounds and John Stockton's 13 points and 11 assists leading the way, the #5-seed Jazz took a wire-to-wire victory over the #2-seed Rockets. The Rockets would go on to win the next two games of the series by an average of six points, and would win the NBA Finals in seven games.
