Humphries Gives Back for the Holidays

BOSTON – Wanting to ensure that families had a memorable holiday, Celtics forward Kris Humphries worked with the Boston Center for Youth and Families to identify five families in-need. Humphries invited those families to attend today’s game vs. Washington where he met each family, wishing them all a happy holiday.

“Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and every year I try to give back to the community and make sure that families have gifts and food,” said the veteran.

The week leading up to today’s game, Humphries and his family went shopping for the five families making sure to purchase the wish list items of the youth. Additionally each family received a grocery gift card, movie gift card and Celtics t-shirts and basketballs.

The families came to the TD Garden two hours prior to the start of the game to watch the team warm-up courtside. Following his workout, Humphries stopped by to spend time with the families. The topics ranged from basketball to what their plans were for Christmas.

After a while of conversing, each family took a photo with the forward at center court so they would never forget this day!

The final surprises came during the third quarter. The families were in the suite watching their favorite Celtic play when gifts were distributed to everyone by the Celtics staff.

The kids couldn’t contain their excitement but promised to not open any gifts until Christmas day! The group also learned that groceries would be delivered to their home on Christmas Eve so they would all enjoy a great meal.

The families erupted in cheers as they expressed their appreciation for all of Humphries’ kindness and generosity. It was definitely Christmas they would never forget!
