&nbsp;NBA All-Star and 2021 NBA Champion, Jrue Holiday, and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Lauren Holiday, announce the 2022 recipients of the JLH Social Impact Fund grants to Black-owned small businesses and nonprofits. Grants are awarded to businesses and nonprofits focused on social impact and creating a more equitable future for underserved communities.&nbsp;

This third round of grant funding is a continuation of Jrue’s pledge during the 2019-2020 season to donate a portion of his salary to the JLH Social Impact Fund, to assist marginalized and underrepresented communities with the funding, mentorship and resources needed to survive.&nbsp;

“We are so excited to announce our third round of grant funding to these very deserving Black-owned businesses and nonprofits, who are helping their communities thrive. Every year we grow our extended JLH family with the hope of shining a light on the need, but also to be an example of how real change occurs when you invest directly in the communities and the people who are underserved,” said Jrue and Lauren Holiday.&nbsp;

In addition to the coaching and training provided to recipients from FundBlackFounders, the JLH Fund has also tapped additional resource partners like Homebase, Baker Tilly, and CommunityX, for specialized professional guidance and services. Alexys Feaster, who oversees the JLH Social Impact Fund said, “we are focused on finding the right people and partners to expand the menu of resources for Black-owned businesses and nonprofits because Jrue and Lauren want to build a community of support. There are many other athletes and people of influence who want to give back and we’ve built a process that people can contribute to and the impact is immediate.”&nbsp;

Additionally, The Lenovo Foundation has awarded support to the JLH Fund in the amount of a $50,000 cash donation; while Motorola donated 300 Moto G Stylus phones to help JLH Fund grantees incentivize&nbsp;

their crowd funding campaigns and implement a “pay it forward” initiative, while also capturing content that documents their journey within their communities.&nbsp;

Jrue and Lauren Holiday Announce Third Round of Funding for Black-owned Businesses and Nonprofits, Providing Up to $1,000,000 in Grant Funding and Additional Resources

180 schools across Wisconsin receive trees after Bucks make franchise record number of threes at Fiserv Forum during 2021-22 season

American Transmission Co. (ATC) is donating 579 trees – equal to the number of threes the Milwaukee Bucks made at Fiserv Forum during the 2021-22 regular season – to 180 Wisconsin schools that registered for the 2021-22 Trees for Threes program. The program, which just completed its sixth season, calls for ATC to donate one tree for every three the Bucks make at home during the regular season.

To celebrate the culmination of the sixth year of the Trees for Threes program, the Bucks and ATC will hold a tree planting ceremony at Milwaukee Academy of Science. Students from Milwaukee Academy of Science will help plant one of the three trees the school is receiving from the program. Bucks Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility Arvind Gopalratnam, ATC Vice President of External Affairs and Communications Greg Levesque and Milwaukee Academy of Science Chief Executive Officer Anthony McHenry will also give remarks at the tree planting ceremony.

“Congratulations to the Bucks on a record-breaking season of three-pointers,” said Levesque. “Our partnership with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Trees for Threes program continues to be a win for local schools and the environment. ATC supports initiatives that have a positive impact on the environment, education and health and well-being to help strengthen the communities in our service area. Planting trees at schools aligns well with these initiatives and can be a valuable lesson for students.”

The Bucks’ 579 threes made at Fiserv Forum this season marked a new franchise record for three-pointers made in a season at home. Milwaukee’s 579 threes made at home were the most by any team in the Eastern Conference and were the fifth-most in the NBA during the 2021-22 season. The 579 trees were donated to 180 schools in 42 counties across Wisconsin. In six seasons of the Trees for Three initiative, the Bucks and ATC have teamed up to donate more than 2,900 trees to help make Wisconsin greener.

The Bucks and Sargento Foods teamed up for the third consecutive year to donate $33,500 to Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity during the 2021-22 season. Sargento donated $500 to the initiative for each tipoff won by the Bucks this season.&nbsp;

Sargento donated $14,500 by March 9 and then doubled the donation to $29,000, helping achieve the $33,500 total.

The Bucks and Sargento have now raised $111,000 for Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity in three seasons of the initiative. The program raised $33,500 in its inaugural season and $44,000 last year.

“We’re proud to have partnered with Sargento to raise $33,500 for Tipoff for Homes this season,” said Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin. “We are grateful to be part of this important initiative to give back to the Milwaukee community.”

Six community groups to receive donated gift cards for food

For the fourth consecutive year, Pick ‘n Save and the Bucks have teamed up to donate $50,000 worth of food to local Milwaukee organizations in support of Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste social and environmental impact plan. In lieu of in-kind non-perishable food products, Pick ‘n Save and the Bucks are distributing the $50,000 in the form of Pick ‘n Save gift cards to help alleviate immediate food insecurities in our community. Over the next three months Pick ‘n Save and the Bucks will donate to six different organizations to help alleviate hunger and provide access to food in our community.

“As our organization continues to drive positive change across the state, we couldn’t ask for a better partner than Pick ‘n&nbsp;Save&nbsp;to help address a major problem for families across the region: food insecurity,” said Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin. “These gift cards will go a long way to provide relief to families who experience hunger.”

The Bucks tipped off the giving by awarding gift cards to Bucks Community Partner MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary. The gift cards will help provide access to healthy food for homeless and at-risk adults. Bucks and Pick ‘n&nbsp;Save&nbsp;staff distributed gift cards and volunteered with the pantry program.

“It is a privilege to team up with the Milwaukee Bucks to provide gift cards to support Milwaukee organizations like the MacCannon Brown Homeless Sanctuary,” said James J. Hyland, Roundy’s Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs. “With these gift cards, we hope to lift up members of our community by providing access to food for today and hope for a brighter tomorrow.”

Below are the five additional community groups in the Milwaukee area that will receive Pick ‘n&nbsp;Save&nbsp;gift cards during the months of May, June and July as part of the Zero Hunger | Zero Waste initiative.

Benedict Center:&nbsp;The Benedict Center provides services and advocacy for women in the criminal justice system so they can live safer, healthier lives for themselves, their children and the community.&nbsp; Their services include community-based counseling for substance use disorders and mental health treatment, reentry support, neighborhood drop-in centers and street outreach. Gift cards will support women returning from the criminal justice system who are working to get back on their feet financially.

Pathfinders:&nbsp;Pathfinders helps homeless and housing insecure youth (primarily LGBTQ+-identified youth) find and sustain safe housing. Once housed, Pathfinders offers support to youth as they work towards stability, mental well-being, education, employment, and other personal goals. Gift cards will support youth and young adults receiving services from the supported housing program.

Meta House:&nbsp;Meta House is a nationally recognized, gender-responsive substance abuse treatment program dedicated to helping women through the progression of recovery. Gift cards will support women overcoming substance abuse disorder who need assistance buying groceries for themselves and family.

Milwaukee LGBT Community Center:&nbsp;The LGBT Community Center helps members enrich their lives through effective programs that support growth and connection. The center provides programming for the entire LGBTQ+ community. Gift cards will support the pantry program and members of the LGBTQ+ community receiving support and services from the community center.

Maroon Calabash:&nbsp;Maroon Calabash is a local, Black-led nonprofit organization committed to, among other things, establishing reproductive justice practices cultivating economic power for Black communities as well as providing prenatal, birth, postnatal and family support for Black families within the Milwaukee community.

In addition to the gift cards, Pick ‘n&nbsp;Save&nbsp;and the Bucks plan to continue their support these organizations through other programming.

In an effort to spotlight the work of nonprofit community leaders and partners across the state, the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation is hosting Milwaukee Bucks Foundation Week from April 3-8.

Milwaukee Bucks Foundation Week will feature opportunities for fans to purchase limited edition retail items, bid on exclusive Bucks experiences and items and learn more about the Foundation’s work to help the Wisconsin community thrive.

“Milwaukee Bucks Foundation Week is a chance for us to spotlight community leaders and partners doing impactful and amazing work to uplift communities all across the state,” said Arvind Gopalratnam, Executive Director of the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation. “As we continue to build our impact off the court in the areas of justice reform, empowerment, youth education, health and wellness and civic engagement, we thank Bucks fans for their support all throughout the year in making our mission a reality for millions across our state.”

During Foundation Week, Bucks fans can take part in an online auction that is open now through Friday, April 8 at 10 p.m. Auction items include a variety of once-in-a-lifetime packages and experiences, with all proceeds going directly to the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation. These auction items include:

In addition, during the Bally Sports Wisconsin broadcast of the Bucks game against the Detroit Pistons this Friday, fans can purchase a special Mystery Box through the online auction platform. Each box includes at least one Bucks memorabilia item from the 2020-21 Championship season and one autographed item, while a limited number of the boxes will include an autographed jersey from one of the current starting five Bucks players.
