Media invited to cover final student presentations on Thursday, July 20 from 1-3 p.m. at We Energies STEM Center

MILWAUKEE (July 19, 2023) – The Milwaukee Bucks teamed up with Motorola, Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) and Alive Milwaukee to host the second annual STEM camp from July 10-20 at We Energies STEM Center at MSOE. The camp introduces and teaches STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) to select Alive Milwaukee students ages 13-18.

The camp centers on the development of apps on mobile devices, including a project supporting the Bucks app. Each student receives a new Motorola smartphone to help with the app project and works in teams to successfully share ideas and solutions to challenges. The teams will present their final idea to a panel at the end of the camp to understand what it means to take an idea through the prototype stage.

By the end of the camp, participants will be able to understand the work behind developing apps and mobile technologies, learn and implement designing for users and understand applications of code and other technologies such as virtual and augmented reality.

MSOE faculty are leading the camp with the help of special guests from the Bucks digital team and Motorola product experts. Students will learn about the various careers and courses of study available to them, notably in technology and technology-related fields.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Sargento Foods teamed up for the fourth consecutive season of the Tipoff for Homes initiative to support Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity. For each tipoff the Bucks won during the 2022-23 regular season, Sargento donated $500 to Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity.

The Bucks won 30 tipoffs during the 2023-23 NBA regular season, for a donation of $15,000. Sargento also donated an extra $25,000, bringing the total donation to $40,000.

“We are proud to continue the Tipoff for Homes initiative with Sargento in support of Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity,” said Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin. “It’s important to us to give back to the community and have a positive impact for years to come.”
