Warriors Basketball Academy, powered by Rakuten, will celebrate its 25th Anniversary this summer through a variety of activations, including 36 camp sessions at 20 Bay Area locations for youth ages seven to 17. Registration for all summer camp sessions is available now at gswacademy.com.
In celebration of the 25th Anniversary, Warriors Basketball Academy will host two overnight camps at the Warriors Basketball Facility in Oakland. The first session will run from June 29–July 2 featuring Warriors forward Trayce Jackson-Davis and guard Brandin Podziemski, and the second session will run from August 2–5 featuring guard Gary Payton II. This marks the third consecutive year the team has hosted an overnight camp.
Additionally, in an effort to support youth basketball participation throughout the Bay Area, the Warriors Community Foundation will launch a Youth Basketball Scholarship program. Through this program, the Foundation will offer scholarships to provide underserved youth with the opportunity to participate in longstanding youth basketball camps and clinics in the Bay Area. The year-round 25th Anniversary celebration will honor the history of Warriors Basketball Camp and highlight key moments, camp alumni, past and present staff members, and the overall impact Warriors Basketball Camp has had on the Bay Area youth basketball landscape through digital content.
Warriors Basketball Academy’s 2024 summer camp schedule will run from June 3–August 9, highlighted by two all-girls sessions, a high potential girls session (ages 11-17) and a coed high potential session (ages 11-17). General sessions will focus on individual skill development, the importance of fundamentals, and the development of a healthy team attitude for boys and girls ages seven to 15 of all skill levels and abilities. The high-energy staff at Warriors Basketball Academy consists of high school and college coaches as well as current and former college players. The player to coach ratio is 8-to-1, making for an immersive experience for every attendee.
Since its inception in the summer of 2000, Warriors Basketball Academy has grown into the largest basketball camp program in the NBA and has attracted over 80,000 youth from six different continents to participate in thousands of sessions in 40+ cities around the Bay Area. Last summer, the Academy featured 36 in-person camp sessions, registering over 4,000 youth. Over the last 25 years, over 250 guest appearances have been made by Warriors players and coaches at various camp sessions. Former Warriors forward Juan Toscano-Anderson is the third former camper to play in the NBA and was the first to play for Golden State and win an NBA Championship.
The Warriors Basketball Facility in Oakland integrates Shoot 360 technology to help players of all skill levels improve their abilities on the court. Warriors Basketball Academy, powered by Rakuten, offers a membership program that includes annual, six-month, three-month, and month-to-month options. All annual members will receive free parking, free skill development classes, open gym options, and two tickets to a Golden State Warriors home game.
