Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson will attend NBA 3X presented by Avea in Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday, June 7 – Sunday, June 8 in an effort to continue to grow the game of basketball globally, it was announced today. During his trip, Thompson will attend the 3-on-3 competition, interact with the youth during basketball drills, participate in a hospital visit, sign autographs, and more.
In addition to the competitive 3-on-3 tournament, activities will include an adidas Skills Challenge, Banvit Knock-out Contest, and an Avea Shooting Contest where the two highest scoring teams will be invited to take part in the Avea Shooting Competition Final during NBA Global Games Istanbul 2014. NBA and partner merchandise giveaways and more will keep fans entertained throughout the weekend. The 3-on-3 tournament comprises of teams of four players and is open for boys and girls of all skill levels in the following categories: Under 16, Under 18, and an 18+ open category.
Last year, Thompson participated in NBA Nation, the NBA’s largest mobile basketball playground, from June 13-24 in Xi’an and Chengdu, China where he hosted an NBA FIT Clinic, participated in a variety of basketball activities, signed autographs and interacted with fans.
