An Inside Look at Warriors Media Day

Established 1946 | 7-time NBA Champions

The 2022-2023 NBA season is officially underway as the Warriors mark another Media Day in the books.

There was no lack of laughs, smiles and excitement at Chase Center on Sunday, with the Dubs tipping off another NBA campaign, this time as the reigning NBA Champions.

Take a look inside the Warriors’ 2022 Media Day as the team looks ahead to another NBA campaign.

With the team’s upcoming preseason trip to Japan and a number of Chase Center events, this year’s Media Day uncharacteristically occurred after a day of practice for the Warriors. Traditionally, Media Day is held prior to the team’s first day of practice. Nevertheless, the Dubs took to the podium to speak with media and address varied topics including offseason highlights, the veteran presence around the organization and the team’s vision for the upcoming season.

A handful of players also spoke to the crew at NBA TV, including Klay Thompson, who shared his excitement about the Warriors’ two-game preseason slate in Japan against the Washington Wizards on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

From there, it was all about the lights, camera and action as new Dub Donte DiVincenzo went behind the lens to capture teammate James Wiseman taking center stage.

No one knows how to throw a pool party like Jordan Poole, with the Dubs’ guard ready to make a splash at Warriors Media Day. While speaking with media, Poole even shared his four keys to a good pool party: “Music. Vibes. Any swim attire and some water.”

Four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson couldn’t help but grin while sitting in front of the four Larry O’Brien trophies the Warriors collected over the last eight seasons. And the five-time NBA All-Star believes the Dubs aren’t done chasing trophies, sharing, “I think we are all so proud of what we accomplished last year, but that's in the past. The greats stay hungry, and we all have our motivations for why we want to win another one.”

Following a season highlighted by winning an NBA championship and earning his first All-Star honor, Andrew Wiggins posed for portraits at Warriors’ Media Day as he gets ready for his fourth season with the Dubs.

Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody stepped into the spotlight as the duo prepare to enter their sophomore season.

Dubs’ rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. posed for his first-ever Media Day portraits, with the first-year forward praising the his new teammates following the first two days of practice. “They are as good as advertised. It goes to show, they are a championship starting five,” Baldwin stated. “They are great players and future Hall of Famers in their own right, and it's been cool to play against them.”

Bay Area musician and longtime Warriors fan P-Lo also roamed the halls of Chase Center on Media Day, sharing his unique behind-the-scenes perspective.

The fun has just begun as the the Warriors’ 2022-23 NBA season is officially underway.
