Complete Timberwolves' NBA All-Star 2024 guide: TV schedule & events for Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns

With a coaching staff, a G-League Up Next star and two All-Stars, the Minnesota Timberwolves will be well represented at NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.

Here's a breakdown of everything the Wolves will be taking part in at this year's All-Star Weekend, including how to watch Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns at All-Star Saturday Night and the 2024 All-Star Game.

Friday: 2024 Panini Rising Stars

With assistant coaches Micah Nori and Elston Turner leading the charge, Minnesota's coaching staff helped to coach Team Pau and Team Tamika in this year's Rising Stars showcase on Friday.

Both teams that Nori and Turner were coaching lost in their first game and did not advance in the Rising Stars showcase.

Coach Finch and his staff led All-Stars Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns and the Western Conference All-Star team through a practice on Saturday. After practice, all three members of the Wolves took part in All-Star Media Day.

Saturday: Kia Skills Challenge with Anthony Edwards

For the first time in his career, Anthony Edwards will compete in the Skills Challenge. The two-time All-Star guard will be on Team Top Picks, which includes other former No. 1 draft picks Paolo Banchero (Magic) and Victor Wembanyama (Spurs).

How the Skills Challenge works:

In the Skills Challenge, three teams of three players will go through a three-round competition that puts their dribbling, passing and shooting skills to the test. Teams will earn "Challenge Points" in each round and the team that earned the most after Round 3, will win the entire competition.

Final Results

Edwards and Team Top Picks did not win any rounds and finished third overall in the competition. In the Team Shooting part of the competition, Edwards scored 11 of his team 19 points.

Saturday: Starry 3-Point Contest with Karl-Anthony Towns

The 2022 champ, Karl-Anthony Towns will compete in the 3-Point Contest for the second time in his career. Towns scored 29 points in 2022 to win the contest. Due to injury, Towns did not compete in last year's contest.

You can watch Towns in the 3-Point Contest on Saturday following the Skills Challenge, which starts at 7 PM, on TNT. The 3-Point Contest will be the second event of All-Star Saturday Night.

How the 3-Point Contest works:

All eight participants will shoot at five locations along the three-point arc. Four locations will have a rack of four regular balls (one point) and one money ball (two points). Each player will choose the fifth location, which features a special rack of five money balls.

There are also two "Starry Range" zones that are located at the wings and top of the key. Each of these zones will have one white ball that's worth three points.

The contest is separated into two rounds, which will last 70 seconds each. Players will have to shoot as many of the 27 balls as they can within that 70-second time limit.

All eight players will participate in the first round. The second and final round will feature the players with three highest scores from the first round. The player with the highest score in the final round will win the competition.

Final Results

Towns made it to the Championship Round of the 3-point contest, where he faced Trae Young and Damian Lillard. In the Championship Round, Towns finished third overall with 22 points.

Sunday: NBA G-League Up Next Game with Luka Garza

Wolves two-way big man Luka Garza will play in the NBA G-League Up Next Game on Sunday at 12:30 PM. Garza is the game's reigning MVP.

Sunday: NBA All-Star Game

  • Date: Sunday, Feb. 18

All-Star Weekend will culminate with the 73rd NBA All-Star Game. You can watch the game on TNT at 7 PM on Sunday.

Since the Wolves have the best record in the West, Coach Chris Finch and his staff will be coaching this season's Western Conference All-Star team, which features Anthony Edwards and Towns.

Both Edwards and Towns were selected as All-Star reserves. This will be the second time Edwards will play in the All-Star game and the fourth for Towns.

Final Results: East 211 - West 186

In a high scoring affair, the East hit 42 three-pointers and beat the West 211-186 in the All-Star Game on Sunday.

Edwards played 13 minutes and finished with four points, an assist and rebound. Towns led the West in scoring with 50 points, which is the most points scored by a Timberwolves player in All-Star history. He also had eight rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes.
