Preview: Wolves vs. Jazz

The Minnesota Timberwolves (1-0) are back at Target Center on Friday night to take on the Utah Jazz (1-0).

Minnesota started their season with a 115-108 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. In Rudy Gobert’s regular-season debut with Minnesota, the 7-1 center tallied 23 points and 15 rebounds – the most rebounds in a Timberwolves debut. Veteran guard D’Angelo Russell contributed 20 points and five rebounds in the game, while Jaden McDaniels added 19 points and six rebounds.

Utah also started their season with a win after defeating the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, 123-102. Jazz guard Collin Sexton had a team-high 20 points in the game, while forward Lauri Markkanen had 17 points.

This is the first meeting between Minnesota and Utah since their blockbuster trade in July where Rudy Gobert joined the Timberwolves in exchange for Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, and a package of draft picks.
