Cheers, Wolves Fans. The TimberTrolls Are Back

Cheers, Wolves Fans. The TimberTrolls Are Back

A couple of these videos have been TV show themed, beginning with a Family Matters spoof two years ago. Their most recent is another genius parody of the 1980s sitcom Cheers' theme song. Now Cheers is iconic in its own right and has deep ties to the basketball community. One of the main characters, Woody Boyd, is famously from Hanover, Ind., and makes jokes throughout the series about a certain Celtics great who grew up in the neighboring town of French Lick—Larry Bird. And Minnesota-native and longtime Wolves front office staple/head coach Kevin McHale made a handful of appearances on the show during his time with the Celtics. But now, 20 years after it last aired on television, the TimberTrolls are adding another basketball-related connection to this iconic show.

I loved Cheers growing up, and I still watch it when I can find it on reruns. And for what it's worth, I'd put the Cheers theme song up among the greatest in television history. So adding a Timberwolves touch makes this a pretty cool video to me. Check it out.
