As If You Needed Another Reason To Love Kris Dunn

If you’ve been watching Summer League, you already know.

It was the crossover seen ‘round the Twitter universe.

In Kris Dunn’s dominating 27-point game against the Nuggets, he hit threes, led fastbreaks and even threw down an alley-oop to start the game.

But his most memorable offensive play was one that didn’t even go in the basket, you know, like the point of basketball.

First off, JaKarr Sampson, we apologize if you had to watch this again. It happens. Whatever. But I’m pretty sure if Dunn would have sunk the shot, you would’ve bought a box of chocolates and just slept on the team bus.

The whole crowd at the Thomas & Mack Center is a hotdish of fans. Some from here, some from there, and bam, it’s delicious. When Dunn pulled off this double-crossover, everyone lost their mind. This is what happens when a lot of people haven’t seen their teams play since mid-April.

Dunn missed. The Wolves lost. But the only thing people were talking about was Dunn’s play and naturally, the crossover came up.

Summer League head coach Ryan Saunders said, sure, it was nice. But he’d prefer if the shot went in. True coach talk.

But Dunn might respond differently, right? He’s 22 and doing stuff like that is cool!

“It doesn’t really matter because I didn’t make the shot,” said Dunn with no smile after the game.

Dunn had the easy chance to give himself a little pat on the back.

Nope. There’s still plenty to work on.

Hardworking and humble. He’s going to fit in with the Wolves and Tom Thibodeau just fine.
