SPURS SELECT SIDY CISSOKO WITH THE 44TH OVERALL PICK IN 2023 NBA DRAFT

SAN ANTONIO (June 23, 2023) – The San Antonio Spurs today selected Sidy Cissoko with the 44th overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft.

Cissoko (SEEDY sis-oh-koe), 6-7/230, played one season with the G League Ignite where he averaged 12.8 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 28 regular season games. He recorded eight games where he scored at least 20 points. Cissoko was chosen to the play in the Rising Stars Challenge at the 2023 NBA All-Star weekend. He was also one of 24 players named to the G League inaugural Next Up Game.

A native of Paris, France, Cissoko made his professional debut in 2021 with Baskona in the Spanish ACB League. He was loaned out to Baskonia's satellite club, Iraurgi SB, in the second-tier LEB Oro where he averaged 10.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 32 games.

Cissoko was named to the World Select Team in the 2022 Nike Hoop Summit. In the same year, he represented France at the FIBA U-18 European Championship where he averaged 7.8 points and 3.2 rebounds.
