SPURS ACQUIRE DEVONTE’ GRAHAM AND FOUR SECOND ROUND DRAFT PICKS

San Antonio sends Josh Richardson to New Orleans

SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 9, 2023) – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have acquired guard Devonte’ Graham and four second draft picks from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for guard Josh Richardson. The four picks from the Pelicans are second rounders in 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2029. 

Graham, 6-1/195, is a five-year NBA veteran who has spent time with Charlotte and New Orleans. Originally drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the 34th overall pick in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft before being dealt to the Hornets in a draft night deal, Graham has appeared in 53 games this season for the Pelicans and is averaging 5.3 points, 2.2 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 15.3 minutes. The former Kansas Jayhawk enjoyed a career year with Charlotte in 2019-20, averaging 18.2 points, 7.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 35.1 minutes. Graham holds career averages of 11.5 points, 4.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 25.7 minutes over 293 NBA games. 

Richardson was acquired by the Spurs in a trade with the Boston Celtics on Feb. 10, 2022. Over the course of two seasons, Richardson appeared in 62 games for San Antonio, averaging 11.4 points, 3.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 23.9 minutes.

Graham will wear No. 4 for the Silver and Black.
