It was a tremendous weekend for New Orleans (36-25) both on the court and the scoreboard, with the Pelicans moving up to sole possession of fifth place in the Western Conference, building at least a one-game lead on all three of its closest pursuers in the standings (Sacramento, Phoenix, Dallas).
New Orleans opened its Friday drubbing of Indiana by tying a franchise record for points in a quarter (48). The hosts went on to roll to a 129-102 victory.
Week 20 of the NBA schedule for New Orleans consists of three more games against the Eastern Conference, all on the road. The Pelicans will visit Toronto (Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.), Philadelphia (Friday at 6) and Atlanta (Sunday at 5), in the midst of nine consecutive matchups with the East (team has gone 2-3 so far in that span).
