New Orleans Pelicans Know Before You Go Fan Gameday Guide

We've worked closely with local & state officials, Ochsner Health and ASM Global to develop a comprehensive health and safety plan, which is outlined below. Please read this page in its entirety to ensure you're ready for game day.

VACCINATION AND TESTING

As of Monday, March 21st, 2022, fans will no longer need to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result in order to gain entrance to the Smoothie King Center.

NEW CITY OF NEW ORLEANS MASK MANDATE

As of March 3, 2022, the City of New Orleans' indoor mask mandate has been lifted. Masks are no longer required in indoor settings.

MOBILE PARKING AND TICKETS

The Pelicans have shifted to 100% mobile tickets and parking passes. This will create a safer, contactless ticketing experience for our fans. It will also allow for increased flexibility and efficiency throughout the season as we adapt to updated conditions and guidelines.

Prior to entering a parking garage or the arena, you’ll need to present your parking pass or tickets on your mobile phone, using either the Pelicans app or the SeatGeek app. For a step-by-step guide to managing your tickets, please visit our Mobile Ticketing 101 page.

CASHLESS CONCESSIONS AND MERCHANDISE

The Smoothie King Center is a cashless operation including all concessions, merchandise, and parking. Cash will not be accepted as a form of payment at any parking, retail, or concession locations within the Smoothie King Center.

Guests may convert their cash to a Visa Card by at the following Guest Service locations throughout the Arena:

  • 100 Level: Section 102
  • 300 Level: Section 331

Visa Cards are sold in $25 and $50 denominations and can be used at ANY POS location in the building including merchandise. Any remaining balance on the debit card can be used at locations where debit payments are accepted.

GATE OPENINGS & ENTRANCE TIMES

All entry locations will open to all ticket holders 1 hour prior to tip-off. We encourage all guests to arrive early to ensure you get to your seat before tip-off.

SMOKE FREE FACILITY

Designated smoking areas will be eliminated for the 2021-2022 New Orleans Pelicans season in order to reduce unnecessary gathering.

STAFF SAFETY

To ensure a safe environment for fans, all team and arena personnel will follow the below protocols when interacting with fans:

  • Will exercise good hand hygiene at all times.
  • Be courteous at all times and strive to keep conversations short.
  • Do not physically interact with fans. No handshakes, "high fives", fist pumps, etc.

When working in an area that includes high touch points, ensure this area is regularly tended to with disinfectants. These locations include the following:

  • Charging stations
  • Concession stands/condiment areas
  • Door Handles
  • Guest Services desk
  • Escalator Rails
  • Elevator Buttons
  • Restrooms

CONCESSION UPDATES

The health and safety of our employees and fans is a priority for the New Orleans Pelicans and the Smoothie King Center. The below updates have been made to the concession areas in the Smoothie King Center:

  • A customer facing barrier will be erected to minimized customer/patron interactions.
  • Hand sanitizers will be at every POS location for patron use.

Fanatics retail locations will be available on all levels of the Smoothie King Center as a cashless operation.

HAND SANITIZERS

Touch free hand sanitizer locations will be placed throughout the arena near concession locations, entrances to restrooms, walkways into seating sections, restrooms and guest services locations.

BAG POLICY

Any bag, purse, or briefcase that is larger than 14" x 14" x 6" will not be allowed into the Smoothie King Center. This policy will be strictly enforced, and the Smoothie King Center is unable to store oversized or prohibited items. An exception will be made for declared medically necessary items, after proper inspection. Per NBA guidelines, all bags will be subject to the screening process through the X-ray machines. The use of X-ray machines will be a contactless step that takes the place of manual bag searches. There will be dedicated entry lines for bags and no bags at each entrance to assist with our entry process.

  • Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to, the following:
    - Backpacks (of any size)
    - Cinch bags
    - Oversized luggage
    - Coolers

FAN HEALTH PROMISE

All ticketholders must agree that neither they, nor any of their guests, will not attend the game if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within 10 days prior to the game, or, unless they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (as defined by the CDC), any of the following is true on the game date:

  • Within the prior 10 days, they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or are subject to a federal or local travel or quarantine advisory due to COVID-19;
  • Within the prior 48 hours, they have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., fever of 100.4⁰F or higher, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking, muscle pain/achiness, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue or any other symptoms identified by the CDC) (anyone who is fully vaccinated but experiences any of the above symptoms within 48 hours before the game should nevertheless consult a healthcare provider and get tested for COVID-19 before attending).
  • Please note: According to the CDC, older adults and people of any age with serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk of death or severe illness from COVID-19. All guests should evaluate their risk in determining whether to attend a game.


COVID-19 WARNING

YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL FACILITY POLICIES, INCLUDING HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICIES, AND POSTED INSTRUCTIONS WHILE IN THE FACILITY AND ON FACILITY GROUNDS.

AN INHERENT RISK OF EXPOSURE TO COVID-19 AND ITS VARIANTS EXISTS IN ANY PUBLIC PLACE WHERE PEOPLE ARE PRESENT. COVID-19 IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DISEASE THAT CAN LEAD TO SEVERE ILLNESS AND DEATH. WHILE PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND HEALTH CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY COVID-19, CERTAIN PEOPLE HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED BY PUBLIC HEALTH AUTHORITIES AS HAVING GREATER RISK BASED ON AGE AND/OR UNDERLYING MEDICAL CONDITIONS.

NO PRECAUTIONS CAN COMPLETELY ELIMINATE THE RISK OF COVID-19. BY ENTERING THE FACILITY, YOU VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS RELATED TO EXPOSURE TO COVID-19 AND ITS VARIANTS.
