New Orleans is in sixth place in the West, needing a win tonight vs. Washington to ensure that it will remain in the top six during the All-Star break. Dallas (31-23) is one game behind in seventh, hosting San Antonio at 7:30 p.m. The Mavericks hold the temporary tiebreaker over the Pels based on division record (7-5). The next step would be conference record (NOLA is 23-18 with 11 West games remaining; Dallas is 19-18).
