Garrett Temple #41 of the New Orleans Pelicans drives to the basket against the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 30.

24 Seconds presented by Ibotta: Most trusted Pelicans teammate

There are probably countless methods one might use to measure trust between NBA teammates, but Pelicans.com essentially cut to the chase by asking a family-related question to do the trick. Yes, we went there. Enjoy the results of our roster-wide search of the squad’s veterans to find out which player is most trusted by his New Orleans teammates. The consensus winner appears to be the Pelicans’ most experienced player, a bona fide Southern gentleman who hails from Baton Rouge and LSU.

If you have or hypothetically had a sister, to which Pelicans teammate would you be most willing to introduce her?

Devonte’ Graham: “None of them. [laughs] Because it’s my sister. It has nothing to do with them – they’re good guys, great guys.”
Jaxson Hayes: “None! Because it’s my little sister, and she actually has a boyfriend who I like a lot. None of these guys are good enough for my sister. [smiles] Actually, maybe Garrett Temple – he’s a nice guy. But still, no.”
Willy Hernangomez: “Nobody, first of all! [smiles] But I’d say Herb Jones. Herb is a good influence, great kid, super humble, he respects everybody.”
Brandon Ingram: “Probably Garrett Temple.”
Herb Jones: “Nobody.” [laughs]
Kira Lewis Jr.: “I’m going with Garrett Temple. He’s a pretty nice guy. Wait, we can say nobody? Then nobody. But if I had to pick, I’d go with G.T.”
Naji Marshall: “Garrett Temple.”
Trey Murphy: “None of them. My sister’s not dating anybody. I’m so serious right now.” (Note: Murphy is actually an only child; after being told that no teammate chose him to be introduced to their sister, Murphy responded, “Why? What’s not to like? There are going to be haters. I’ve got good qualities: funny, smart guy, handsome. What else do you need?”)
Larry Nance Jr.: “None of them are good enough. It has nothing to do with these guys – they’re all great.”
Garrett Temple: [laughs] “Can I say none? Probably Herb Jones.”
Jonas Valanciunas: “Nobody. Nope. No.”
Zion Williamson: “I’d say Garrett Temple. He carries himself like a (gentleman), he’s a quality guy, great dude. Whenever I see him with his family, it’s the most beautiful thing ever.”
