Five things to know about the Pelicans on Feb. 9

1) After a late night Friday due to a national TV appearance, the Pelicans did not practice Saturday, but on a travel day they took a team flight to New York City in the mid-afternoon.

2) New Orleans (22-27) visits Brooklyn (22-26) at 5 p.m. Central tonight, in the first of two games between the clubs in 2013-14. The latter matchup is March 24 in the Crescent City. Tonight’s game will be broadcast by Fox Sports New Orleans and the Pelicans Radio Network.

3) The Pelicans will try to improve upon their 13-5 record against the Eastern Conference, a winning percentage of 72.2 that is equivalent to 59 wins over an 82-game season.

4) On this pre-All-Star break road trip, New Orleans will also visit East clubs Toronto and Milwaukee, on Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

5) In case you missed it, the Pelicans are coming off a 98-91 victory over Minnesota, on a particularly memorable day for Anthony Davis.
