Despite playing without first overall pick Cade Cunningham (calf) and Killian Hayes (concussion), the Detroit Pistons benefited from a balanced and efficient offensive effort from their starting five to topple the Los Angeles Lakers 103-86 in an MGM Resorts Summer League battle at Thomas and Mack Center on Saturday night.

The Pistons set the tone for what would be a prolific offensive night by emerging from the first quarter with a 29-17 lead. Although the Lakers managed to shave seven points from their deficit prior to halftime, Detroit came right back in the third to extend their advantage back out to 14 on their way to the double-digit victory. Los Angeles’ second unit did a lot of heavy lifting, outscoring the Pistons’ bench by a 38-18 margin in defeat.

Saben Lee led the Pistons with 22 points, complementing them with five assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block. Luka Garza generated a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double that also included three assists and one steal. Spencer Littleson furnished 17 points, six rebounds and two assists. Jamorko Pickett and Saddiq Bey delivered matching 13-point tallies while pulling down eight rebounds and dishing out six assists, respectively. Anthony Tarke turned in 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal.

Jordan Floyd paced the Lakers off the bench with 16 points, complementing them with five assists and three steals. Tres Tinkle supplied 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal. Trevelin Queen registered 11 points, one rebound, two steals and one block. Chaundee Brown managed 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal.
