The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 100-80 in the MGM Resorts Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Saturday.

A 28-21 first quarter set the foundation for Boston in this game, holding the lead for the final three quarters. The Celtics rode a 30-14 third quarter to a 25-point lead and got the lead up to 27 points at times in this blowout victory. The Celtics shot 49% from the field and 44% from 3-point range while holding the Sixers to 35% from the field and 23% from long range. In addition, Boston outscored Philly in the paint 50-38.

Isaiah Joe led Philly with 15 points, six rebounds and four assists. Paul Reed amassed 14 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. No other player on the team had more than seven points.

Zach Auguste led Boston with 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals off of the bench. Carsen Edwards led the starters with 16 points, five rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks. Aaron Nesmith and Romeo Langford had 13 points apiece. Bruno Fernando totaled nine points, 11 rebounds and three assists.

Philly’s next game will be on Sunday versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. As for Boston, they have yet to be assigned a game but will suit up Tuesday.
