BROOKLYN -- Penny Hardaway, part of Team Westbrook, was the star of Round 1 of Degree Shooting Stars. He made his first attempt from the top of the arc and nailed his first half-court heave to help his team finish in just over 35 seconds.

However, he, joined by Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Tamika Catchings of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever, didn’t have the same fortune in the championship round. None of the three could make the half-court shot before time expired and, as a result, eventually lost to Team Bosh, consisting of Chris Bosh, Dominique Wilkins and Swin Cash.

Along with the other legends in the competition who wore the jersey of the team they are most commonly associated with, Hardaway wore a Magic uniform during the contest.

"Orlando is my history," Hardaway said. "It's a great weekend for all of us."
