BROOKLYN -- Matched up against an All-Star from the hottest team in the league was a daunting task for rookie Elfrid Payton, a replacement in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge.

Atlanta’s Jeff Teague, who used his blazing speed and accuracy to breeze through the First Round, didn’t even allow Payton a chance to finish his portion of the obstacle course. Teague buried the 3-point shot on his first attempt before Payton arrived to the line to give his three a try.

Payton, who was a substitute for the injured Michael Carter-Williams, also participated in Friday’s BBVA Rising Stars Challenge.

Teague lost in the semifinals to the eventual champion, Patrick Beverley. The Rockets guard replaced John Wall, who decided not to participate in Saturday's event but will start in Sunday's All-Star Game.
