The wait is finally over. Basketball has officially arrived in Downtown Sacramento.
Prior to tip-off of tonight’s first-ever regular season game in Golden 1 Center, the 17,500 in attendance celebrated the opening of their brand new home. Electricity filled the air as Sacramento Kings owner and chairman Vivek Ranadivé addressed the crowd with a congratulatory message of gratitude and thanks.
“Three years ago I stood in front of all of you and said 'this is your team and it's here to stay,'” said Ranadivé. "Tonight, I'm very happy to say welcome to your new home."
