Utah Jazz Sign Jordan Clarkson to Contract Extension

The Utah Jazz have renegotiated the contract of guard Jordan Clarkson and signed him to a multi-year contract extension. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

“Jordan has been an integral piece in our team’s growth during his time here,” said CEO of Basketball Danny Ainge. “We’re looking forward to him continuing his tenure with our franchise.”

Clarkson (6-5, 194, Missouri) is entering his 10th NBA season and last year averaged 20.8 points on 44.4 percent shooting, 4.4 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 32.6 minutes per contest. The former Sixth Man of the Year surpassed the 10,000-point mark in his career last season on Jan. 3 against Portland and Clarkson’s 1,271 points were second on the team in 2022-23, with his 155 three-point field goals ranking third. The 31-year-old ranks fifth in franchise all-time three-point field goals (646) and his 866 three-point field goals off the bench rank 10th all-time in NBA history and his 6,973 points as a reserve rank 13th all-time.

“Signing Jordan to an extension was a priority for our organization this offseason,” said Jazz General Manager Justin Zanik. “Jordan’s incredible talent combined with his positivity and love for our community make him a truly special individual. We’re thrilled to keep him as a key part of our organization.”

The San Antonio, Texas native has appeared in 250 games (65 starts) over four seasons with Utah, owning career averages of 17.8 points, 3.6 boards, and 2.8 assists in 27.9 minutes per contest. He’s competed in 24 games in his postseason career as a Jazzman, posting averages of 17.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 27.8 minutes.

Originally traded to the Jazz from the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 24, 2019, Clarkson earned the 2020-21 Sixth Man of the Year Award and has additional experience nationally. He played for the Philippines National Team in the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, tallying a 23-point performance while handing out six assists in a victory over Saudi Arabia in Manila.
