Opponents to Teammates

The last time Donte DiVincenzo and Jordan Poole played at the Alamodome, DiVincenzo's Villanova defeated Poole's Michigan 79-62 in the 2018 National Championship. DiVincenzo scored 31 points in that game, the most ever for a player coming off the bench in a title game, and was named Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

Fast forward almost five years to Friday night, and it was both DiVincenzo and Poole leading their team to victory. Poole scored a team-high 25 points, his ninth consecutive game scoring 20-or-more points.

DiVincenzo's 22 points were the second most in the game, and the most he has scored in a game since April 8, 2021. The guard also added seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in one of his most effective games as a Warrior.

Attendance Record

Friday night’s game at the Alamodome set an NBA record, with the 68,323 fans in attendance being the most ever at a single-game. It surpassed the previous record of 62,046 fans at the Georgia Dome as the Atlanta Hawks hosted the Chicago Bulls on March 27, 1998. Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr was also a part of that game, coming off the bench for the Bulls in their victory.

Friday also marked the Spurs’ first game at the Alamodome since Game 4 of the 2002 Western Conference Semifinals vs. the Lakers.

Middle Quarters Eruption

The Dubs held a five-point lead after the first quarter, but their offense caught fire in the second and third quarters, recording back-to-back 40-point quarters. The Warriors shot 63.3 percent from the field (31-49) and 52.2 percent from 3-point range (12-23) in the middle two quarters as their five-point lead ballooned up to 25 points going into the fourth quarter.

Bench Points

Poole and DiVincenzo were not the only Dubs players off the bench to make an impact on Friday. Forward Anthony Lamb recorded 13 points, shooting 5-for-7 from the field and hitting 3-of-4 3-point attempts. Moses Moody added 12 points, his most since Dec. 21, as the second-year guard shot 4-for-7 from the field and also tallied three assists, two rebounds and a steal.

Klay's Quick Seven

Seven of Klay Thompson's 16 points on the night came in a 46-second span in the third quarter. With the Warriors leading by seven points early in the third quarter, Thompson took Romeo Langford off the dribble and finished a fadeaway in the paint. On the next Dubs possession, Draymond Green found a cutting Thompson as he finished with his left hand over Jakob Poeltl. On the third possession, Kevon Looney found Thompson in the corner, who pump-faked as a Spurs player jumped right by him, then knocked down a corner three to give the Dubs an 11-point lead, forcing a Spurs timeout.

Thompson also surpassed 5,000 career made field goals on the night, becoming the eighth player in franchise history to reach the mark.

Quick Start

A 16-1 run in the first quarter gave the Dubs an early advantage. The Spurs offense started cold, missing their first six shots from the field, not making their first one until 7:28 remaining in the first quarter.
