At the end of the school year, five of the 20 classes will be awarded a grant of $20,000 for their community projects.
Youth sports programs, such as the Spurs Youth Basketball League, presented by Pizza Hut and Valero, was developed by Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich and Kids Sports Network founder Frank Martin in 1990. The league is in its 21st year, and has grown to annually include more than 20,000 South Texas youth in a positive basketball experience.
