As the NBA regular season ends and all eyes look to the postseason, let's take a look at the Pelicans' individual stat leaders in multiple major categories.
Team Leaders by Points Per Game
Team StatsFour Pelicans tallied more than 1,000 total point. Guard CJ McCollum led the way with 1,568 points. Forward Trey Murphy III was second with 1,148. Center Jonas Valančiūnas had 1,115 with forward Brandon Ingram rounding out the 1,000-point club at 1,112. Looking at points per game (PPG), three players averaged more than 20 PPG in 2022-23. Forward Zion Williamson led the way with an average of 26 PPG. Second was Ingram with 24.7, and McCollum round out the top 3 with 20.9 PPG.
Team Leaders by Rebounds Per Game
Team StatsValančiūnas was well ahead of the pack in rebounds and rebounds per game. The seven-footer from Lithuania averaged 10.2 RPG, a total of 804 (579 defensive, 225 offensive boards). Larry Nance Jr. was second with 354.
McCollum led the way in assists, tallying 429, an average of 5.7 per game. Only Ingram averaged more assists per game with 5.8, but he only totaled 262 assists on the season due to his time missed with a toe injury.
Team Leaders by Steals Per Game
Team StatsTo no one's surprise, wing Herbert Jones was the team's leader in steals with 103, an average of 1.6 SPG. He surpassed 100 steals in back-to-back seasons. Murphy was second with 89 total (1.1 SPG), and McCollum rounded out the top 3 with 70 steals total (0.9 SPG).
Valančiūnas led the way in blocks with 52 (0.7 BPG). Murphy was second with 43 (0.5 BPG), and Jones rounded out the top three with 42 total (0.6 BPG).
Only two Pelicans had more than 200 3-pointers for the season: McCollum (211/543, 38.9%) and Murphy (202/497, 40.6%).
As a team, the Pelicans finished the regular season ranked in the NBA's Top 10 for eight different categories, including steals per game (T-2), points off of turnovers (T-5) and defensive rating (6).

Murphy made NBA history as the youngest player to shoot 40+ percent on threes and 90+ percent on free throws.
McCollum set the franchise record for most three-pointers made in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 30, 2022 with 11.
Ingram is one of four players in the NBA this season to average 24-plus points, 5.0-plus assists and shoot 39.0% or better from three-point range, alongside Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Jalen Brunson.
Ingram also registered his first two career triple-doubles within a week of each other. His first came against the Charlotte Hornets on March 23 with a 30-point, 11-rebound, and 10-assist stat line. Ingram added a second triple-double in the team's victory over the Nuggets on March 30.
Valančiūnas scored his 10,000 career point on January 20 vs. Orlando to become the second Lithuanian-born player to do so in the NBA. Valančiūnas also became the 88th player in NBA history and one of 12 active players to reach 300 career point/rebound double-doubles on December 26 against the Pacers.
