This past season New Orleans Pelicans fans were able to submit photos to a Pelicans Nation photo wall on Pelicans.com by using the hashtag #TakeFlight or #Pelicans. We visited with a number of these fans to talk about their love of attending Pelicans games at the Smoothie King Center and to get the story behind their photo.

Three generations of Williams men - Tony, Jeff and Jace - came together this past March to cheer on the New Orleans Pelicans. It was their third game together during the season, and they were excited to cheer from the club level.

“Any time I can capture moments with my dad and son is always good,” Jeff Williams said about his decision to post a photo to Instagram. “It was fun.”

Jeff’s picture wasn’t the only camera time they had that night. All three of the Williams men made an appearance on the big screen.

“We looked up and there we were,” Jeff said.

Anthony Davis is Jace’s favorite player. That night Davis had an impressive stats line - 16 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks - as the Pelicans defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 98-96.

“It was a big win,” Jeff said. “I remember leaving and saying how great it was.”

Being a longtime fan of the Pelicans, Tony has seen all of the positive changes as they build for the future.

“I was here when they had the New Orleans Pelicans baseball team,” Tony said. “When they changed the name to Pelicans I understood.“

As it goes for next season, the Williams men are looking forward to attending games and forecast a bright future for the Pelicans.

“Any time we go to the Pelicans game the experience is great,” Tony said. “I love the Pelicans.”
