Injury Report: Trey Murphy III upgraded to questionable, Jose Alvarado questionable following injury against 76ers

Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III (left knee partial meniscectomy) was upgraded to questionable ahead of Friday’s 7 p.m. home game vs. the San Antonio Spurs in the Smoothie Kings Center. Guard Jose Alvarado (right ankle sprain) is also questionable following an injury sustained on the Wednesday, Nov. 29 game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Pelicans practice report: Trey Murphy fully participates, indicates he'll play Friday vs. Spurs

Based on his team’s recent game schedule consisting of a Thanksgiving road trip and regular back-to-backs, New Orleans third-year forward Trey Murphy hasn’t had many opportunities lately to practice in the Ochsner Sports Performance Center, but he was on the floor Thursday. Not long after practice wrapped up, Murphy tweeted a brief video of a young boy saying in part, “My name is Trey. I have a basketball game tomorrow.”

Pelicans forward Larry Nance Jr. (rib) expected to miss 4-6 weeks

The New Orleans Pelicans announced Thursday they will be without Larry Nance Jr., who reaggravated a right rib fracture.

The team said Nance is expected to miss four to six weeks.
