Forward Zion Williamson (left finger contusion) will be listed as questionable for the New Orleans Pelicans game on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs at 7 p.m. in the Smoothie King Center (Bally Sports, 99.5 FM).
Williamson sustained the injury trying to block a fast-break layup hitting his finger against the backboard during the Pelicans game against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
Both forward Brandon Ingram (left knee bone contusion) and guard Jose Alvarado (right oblique strain) are listed as out for the matchup against the Spurs. Brandon Ingram will be out for his eighth straight game and Jose Alvarado will miss his fifth game in a row.
Pelicans coach Willie Green said at Thursday's practice that Williamson avoided sustaining a more significant injury.
“Z’s good,” Green said. “X-rays (were) negative. (On the) MRI, everything structurally was fine. He has some soreness in his finger.”
Williamson has appeared in 65 of the Pelicans 76 games on the season.
