Willie Green recaps loss | Pelicans-Celtics Postgame Interview 3/30/2024
Pelicans Head Coach Willie Green
On their difficulty scoring:
“We just lost a little bit of our way. Like you said, third quarter, only eleven points. I have to go back and watch before I make a true assessment of what happened, but, we definitely lost a little bit of our juice during that time, and that’s the difference when you’re playing against a top tier team. On both ends of the floor, you have to execute and score. For sure.”
On Zion Williamson playing a career-high 40 minutes:
“He’s in phenomenal conditioning. And we still want to be careful. 40’s probably a bit much, but tonight we needed to ride him a bit.”
On the last three games:
“These are playoff-like games that we relish. Oklahoma, Milwaukee, Boston: all tough teams and they all came down to execution. Pretty close games—tonight got away from us a little bit, but we battled back. And this is what you want: you want an opportunity to play against the best teams and see where you stack up as we continue to prepare.”

Pelicans Forward Zion Williamson
On what went wrong in the third quarter:
“It goes back to what I said the past few press conferences: they upped their intensity and we did not match it. When we started to match it, the game was out of hand at that point. It just shows what type of team they are. They are a great team.”
On how the Celtics players fit together:
“They can switch positions one through five. Especially when they have their starting unit out there. They really don't have a position you can pick on. If they do, you have to watch the film and see where it is at. They are all similar in size and can switch.”
