New Orleans rookie small forward Quincy Pondexter sat down recently with Hornets.com to provide his thoughts on his background and several of his interests away from the game of basketball.Best moments as an athlete: “Winning championships. The feeling that comes after winning a championship is so great. I remember winning AAU tournaments, high school tournaments. We won the Pac-10 tournament last year and the Pac-10 championship the year before. Hopefully we can win some championships in New Orleans.”One thing that might surprise fans about me: “I want to have a future in broadcasting.”Favorite thing about New Orleans: “The thing I like the most is the weather’s pretty warm. And the food is really, really good.”Pregame rituals: “In college, I had to make sure I took a shower a couple hours before every game and put on my clothes the exact same way.”Favorite athlete as a kid: “Kobe Bryant. I can’t really say that now, because I’ll be going against him now, but he was always one of my favorite athletes.”What he’d be doing if he weren’t an NBA player: “I’d be a reality TV star.”Closest friends on other NBA teams: (Former University of Washington players) Spencer Hawes, Jon Brockman; the Lopez twins and I went to high school together, so we’re good friends. There are a lot of guys you’ve played against for so many years, so it’s almost like one big fraternity.Favorite type of music: “I listen to all types of music. I like Drake and Kanye West, but you might catch Miley Cyrus or someone else on my iPod.”Favorite TV shows: “Keeping up with the Kardashians, and Eastbound and Down.”Favorite movie of all time: “A tie between The Hangover and Forrest Gump.”Favorite website: “Facebook, Twitter. Those are my go-to sites.”What he enjoys about Twitter: “I love being able to communicate with my fans and also have people be able to communicate with me. It’s a great network to be able to get your voice out there, but also to be able to get all of your news coverage in one place, and really fast, in a matter of seconds.”
