Five things to know about the Pelicans on Jan. 3 (1/3/14)

1) It’s a Friday road gameday for New Orleans (14-16), which will face Boston at 6:30 p.m. Central. The game will be broadcast live by Fox Sports New Orleans and the Pelicans Radio Network.

2) The Pelicans moved up their Thursday flight from Minneapolis by a couple hours in order to get to Boston earlier amid snowy conditions. The local Logan International Airport closed last evening.

3) As a result of the Boston airport closing, the Celtics reportedly were not going to leave Chicago today until 10 a.m., according to the Boston Globe. It’s exceptionally rare in the NBA for a team to arrive in a city only a handful of hours before tip-off of a game, but it was unavoidable due to the weather conditions.
