Five things to know about the Pelicans on Aug. 1

1) Today’s the day. After months of anticipation, the Pelicans will unveil their new uniforms at 1 p.m. Central. Watch the proceedings live on Pelicans.com.
2) Pelicans team president Dennis Lauscha discussed the uniforms during Wednesday’s Black and Blue Report on Pelicans.com. Lauscha noted that the team’s jerseys will read “NEW ORLEANS” across the chest. He also mentioned that a brand-new ligature logo will be unveiled today.
3) Pelicans “models” Ryan Anderson, Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday and Jason Smith will be on hand at Thursday’s ceremony to show off the new unis.
4) As fans saw during summer league, particularly when New Orleans wore its “road” uniforms, the club’s two primary colors are navy blue and gold. Red is an accent color.
5) Happy 21st birthday to Pelicans guard Austin Rivers, the second-youngest member of the team (Davis turns 21 on March 11).
